 Okay, Tay Tay~

Why if you don’t listen to this Soul filled album, “The Life of A ShowGirl” by Taylor Swift, you're missing out on experiencing History in Real Time. This is 2026 Album of the Year.

Everyone is different, so don’t judge me-I started listening to “The Life of A ShowGirl” with the song, “Wood” as I heard it was talking about Taylor Swift’s fiancĂ©, Travis Kelce’s wood. Who wouldn’t be interested in hearing about Travis’ wood and in song? Travis is fine!

If ‘TAYVIS’ has to be born for creativity that birthed an album like this, I do NOT object! Actually, I whole-heartedly agree and support their efforts.

“All that bitchin, wishing on a fallen star never did me any good, I ain’t got to knock on wood. It’s you and me forever dancing in the dark.”

Tay Tay serenades her man and lets her listeners into the intimacy of a relationship we’ve all witnessed. Tay Tay is a grown-women now! Ya’ll, as an auntie, I feel like I watched her grow-up. She said, “Girls, I don’t need to catch the bouquet (mmmm) to know a hard rock is on the way.” The word play here is sick! I think I heard something about “The curse on me was broken by your magic wand, & I ain’t got to knock on “Wood.” She talks about being superstitious, until he touches her hand.

“Redwood Tree ain’t hard to see” and I understand clearly what she means, if you’ve ever seen Travis on the football field you get it too, and I am so jealous….. Tay Tay even talks about “Manhood, New Heights” from the clowns she used to deal with Travis is a real man. This one song from “The Life of A Showgirl’s” entire album-hooked me! I hadn’t even listened to the rest of the album-yet. This never happens to me! At this point, I should have went to the beginning of the album, nope. I didn’t want to cut-off the song toooo soon,

“His love was the key that opened my thighs."

And Cancelled! Came on! Taylor has grown into womanhood, and yes, “womanhood” is a thang. Ask any old-schooled auntie. The Soul from this album is core dropping. I mean something soulful drips from this album into sound waves, vibrates the eardrum and skips right to the Soul. I dare you to play “Cancelled” and NOT DANCE. Your body forces you to move. I can’t tell if I hear a violin, or a Harp? I know the guitar in the beginning-jammed, keeps the body struck by rhythm and cord. The beat is soooo Soul catching.

“Like my whiskey sour and poisoned thorny flowers.”

Tay Tay is taking us through a fantasy world where everyone is accepted, allowing people to be who they are, unafraid to authentically display and rejoicing in sharing “matching scars.”

“Good thing I like my friends cancelled, I like’em cloaked in Gucci and in scandal.”

Tay Tay describes “Welcome to my underworld where it gets quite dark.” Warning, “Beware the wrath of masked crusaders.” Seeing this under-world could “break your heart.” The way this song grabs something deep inside: Twisting and pulling one's core to dance, to move.

-Random: It sounds like a harp playing while Tay Tay provides wisdom to her listeners,

“But if you can’t be good, then just be better at it. Everyone’s got bodies in the attic or took somebody’s man, we’ll take you by the hand, and soon you’ll learn the art of never getting caught.”

I finally, realized, I needed to, had to go-listen to this album from the beginning. Taylor Swift is blessed with the gift of crafting. So, I already know she took great time placing each song in a creative order which matches her creative flow, creating a world as we listen, as we travel to the next auditory stimulation. We don’t need to create a world to her words; she does that for us. Just as this song has a story, I can’t wait to experience the songs together, and how each one builds into “The Life of A ShowGirl.

“And now you know exactly who your friends are, (you know who we are) we’re the ones with matching scars.” ~ Taylor Swift
