For Hip Hop Music Lovers
My top 7 list of songs right now that you have to hear. If you are like me a little slow at catching on and want to know what's hot right now (July 6, 2015). Check out this list, which is bound to imprint on your mind making you hummmm all week long at your work space. Slight warning, some of these songs have explicit language and content.
Big Sean ~ This young emotional lyricist has no problem telling people how he feels. Nor does he fail at leaving you something to bob your head to while thinking about his message. I am biased on this one, because I am a Kanye West fan and believe in his musical genius as well as his protege Big Sean. Check out: http://youtu.be/cZaJYDPY-YQ and http://youtu.be/M6t47RI4bns
Fetty Wap ~ What draws me to his music is his unique singing style of rapping. He had to be on this list when my mom is walking around singing about Fetty Wap's Trap Queen. This is a hood love song. Who ever she is he apparently does everything with her, and I don't think he's talking about real pies? Ha! Some of you may need to use the urban dictionary on this one if you want to really understand what he's trying to say. This song will make you get up and dance and play it again. http://youtu.be/i_kF4zLNKio
Jidenna ~ A very intelligent man that reminds us of our grandfathers and what they fought for and stood for. He demonstrates the clean, poise, man of integrity in this video. This is defiantly a song that will have you singing about being a "classic man" for days. I have a feeling that their will be a lot more to hear from this budding artist. http://youtu.be/nsiN0W15w0U
Wiz Khalifa ~ I don't need to say much about Wiz. If you haven't heard his music then you've been living under a rock or don't get out much. This is a beautiful song that will touch your heart as it seems to be a tribute to Paul Walker. May he rest in peace, he is greatly missed. http://youtu.be/RgKAFK5djSk
Silento ~ So, if you want to know what's "poppen" in the latest dance styles then you have to watch this video. If you can do any of these dances it will win points in whatever crowed you are in....guaranteed! http://youtu.be/vjW8wmF5VWc
Weeknd ~ You may not know this guy, but if you've seen "Fifty Shades" then you've heard his song. He has a collection of songs that really inspire the soul. He has one with Ty Dolla $ign, but it is strictly for a mature audience. This is a song that makes you want to grab someone special and pull them in for a spin around the room. http://youtu.be/waU75jdUnYw
Omarion featuring Chris Brown & Jhene Aiko ~ Do you remember B2K? Well, Omarion is back and hotter then ever!!! Not to mention, anyone who adds Chris Brown to their song is bound to reach a record hit. I don't care what anyone says about Chris Brown, he's very talented in singing, dancing, entertaining, and helping someone's record reach above and beyond what they had ever imagined. You have to check this one out.. http://youtu.be/aPxVSCfoYnU

My Favorite Characters on Game of Thrones
My Favorite Characters on Game of Thrones (or at least the ones that I appreciate who make my viewing time pleasurable)
^Daenerys Targaryen a.k.a "Khaleesi" a.k.a "Mother of Dragons" (Emilia Clarke) ~ Now she is a true definition of a "Boss B^tc#" and anyone who thinks otherwise is simply a HATER.... She is kind, understanding, nurturing, and fair, but don't get it twisted....please, because her dragons don't play. Especially, Drogon....yep, he will burn you to a crisp ordurb and not ask any questions later.
^Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) ~ He just makes the show worth watching. He is funny. He's like the uncle that allows you to do things your parents wouldn't like drink, smoke, stay out way to late. His sense of humor is real, blunt, and just straight forward. He doesn't mince words, and he's so much fun.....
^Jon Snow (Kit Harington) ~ mmmmm. He is the man that every women would love to marry. He will stay faithful, take you on adventures, treat you with respect, and not ask if you are going to pick up the next tab. He is a true example of a "real man". I am very sad that my "eye candy" will be gone from the show.....Geeze the Stark Clan is dwindling down. I thought the good guys are supposed to win?
^Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) ~ She is that bad little sister who won't listen, but no matter what she does you still love her. While you shake your finger at her in disappointment, inside you are secretly cheering her on. She's like a bee you don't want to catch and get stung. She needs to be free, and free she is.......Just make her your friend and definitely not your foe. You want this little thang on your team!
^Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) ~ I mean you love to hate her. She is a "mother hen" and loves those kids of hers.....and her brother's (so gross). However, she's is the horrible mother-in-law that you wish would stop meddling in your relationship....and that is an understatement. You have to give it to her, because she is so cold....cold as in "bad" and "nice". She plays her role way tooooo good! I'm scared. I'm really scared for all those people who embarrassed her by making her walk down the street bucket naked. How dare them!?!?!? Do they know who she is? You already know it's going to be some ish.
Who's on your list?
Matthew 5:16 - Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Today Is Going To Be A Good Day
When someone says you are not good enough.
When someone says you can't be free
When someone says they can't hear you
When someone says they don't care
When you feel like you have everything to lose...And you do
When letting go causes you to be confused
When the devil's trying to get you
Opening your heart to listen
Opening your heart to do what's right
A modern day civil rights
And no one wins during the course of this fight
Time repeating itself
Fighting amongst each other
When it already seems the whole world is against us
We've got to stay united
Fighting to protect each other should be our biggest battle
Anything is possible
Chicago Blackhawks just won the Stanley Cup
God should be your goal, always looking up
Be who you want in this life, He should be the one to judge
Be born a guy, but be a girl: Be born white, but be black
The most important part should be what's inside
Celebrating life with love should be how we strive
Romans 15:5-6
5 May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, 6 so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

My New York Experience (just on my mind as I sit here)
I couldn't tell the difference between tourist and the real New Yorker. The street people found homes sleeping on the steps. He seemed at peace sleeping. Somewhere so busy and with others walking around as they were couldn't provide me rest. I wondered if he'd always been that way? A book bag held up his head. Which probably contained everything he owned in life. New York where dreams are made. Did his dream get crushed and his days grew one into another? I would never know. He must like it here, because he stays and sleeps soundly. The diversity was amazing. The different languages amazed me, but I wanted to understand what they were saying. Could I find a home here? Would I grow into something or someone different? As a bus passed it bared the face of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. I bet he's been to New York and I bet he loved it. Imagining how I would feel with my face on the side of a tour bus. Would that make me happy? Sitting on a stoop in front of Starbucks across from the Hilton I was staying at. I felt a chill, the carmel mocha frappuccino I drank didn't help. It was colder then I expected. A young hungover guy, couldn't tell if he was American, French, or from the United Kingdom, was looking for solace in coffee. His eyes were red and he staggered a bit in his khaki shorts and grey shirt. I guess the chuck Taylor's made a comeback or maybe they've always been here; they just stood out more today being on many passerby's feet. Never seen so many people traveling with suitcases in tow on the street. Would the world ever notice me? I soaked up the New York streets. I soaked up the music New York provided me with blaring horns from every direction, trucks stopping and going, people talking, bike wheels tic tic ticking, construction drills, breaks on cars screeching, birds chirping (and may I say more friendlier then on my street). New York, like a loud and boisterous, risk-taking, kind (but don't get it twisted), energetic, person waiting for the next big adventure. New York is a beautiful place to be.

I can only see the world through my own eyes that project my feelings and perception
I can only see the world through my own eyes that project my feelings and perception ~ Keisha
I am a candidate reference number. What am I talking about? I was looking at a job, because my passion is to write. I would love to be apart of the entertainment field writing or pitching creative ideas for movies, films, television. Anyway, when you apply for a job at this certain company you become a candidate reference number. I've been looking at this company's website for several months feeling like I've tried to convey the best parts of me in my resume and cover letter, however that doesn't seem to be good enough. So, I've become a candidate reference number. Should that make me feel less of a person? My grandmother used to tell me that she could leave one job and walk next door and get another job. Maybe when they'd see her face-to-face she looked like the type of person they'd want to hire. And they were right, because my family is full of strong black women who work hard. We've been taught that from generation to generation that to be successful you have to work for what you want. I feel at a disadvantage when in this modern world we apply through a computer or even more efficient through my iPhone 6. The employer doesn't get a chance to measure me based off of the person I may be standing in front of them. I am represented based off the best way I can convey myself on paper. Being a writer I don't feel very confident right now in my writing abilities. I even published a book!! I am now a candidate reference number. So, again looking today at this company's website, applying for another position, hoping and praying it will fit whatever criteria they are looking for....I see a position for a Director/Executive Director, CSR & Diversity.....ah, the light goes on. Maybe that's why I haven't heard anything....Surly, the name Keisha doesn't scream Caucasian!?!?! Then it all makes sense. I was upset after my mind kept floating this information around like my résumé floating through Internet space. Could this really be the case??? It is my perception that because I'm black maybe I'm over looked? Then I thought if they don't hire a minority for that position what's the point. Is that wrong? I can only see the world through my eyes.....do other people believe the same thing or feel the same way???....If you want more diversity hire a minority for the Director/Executive Director, CSR & Diversity? If you can't start there do you really want to be more diverse? At least I know now that I may be wasting my time and need to look for a company that doesn't seem to have issues with diversity. But then again this is only how I see it!
James 2:1-26
My brothers, show no partiality as you hold the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory. For if a man wearing a gold ring and fine clothing comes into your assembly, and a poor man in shabby clothing also comes in, and if you pay attention to the one who wears the fine clothing and say, “You sit here in a good place,” while you say to the poor man, “You stand over there,” or, “Sit down at my feet,” have you not then made distinctions among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts? Listen, my beloved brothers, has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom, which he has promised to those who love him? ...

Exposing oneself is a way to become a better person and a way to help others become better people.
2 You can't keep your true self hidden forever; before long you'll be exposed. You can't hide behind a religious mask forever; sooner or later the mask will slip and your true face will be known. 3 You can't whisper one thing in private and preach the opposite in public; the day's coming when those whispers will be repeated all over town. 4 "I'm speaking to you as dear friends. Don't be bluffed into silence or insincerity by the threats of religious bullies. True, they can kill you, but then what can they do? There's nothing they can do to your soul, your core being. 5 Save your fear for God, who holds your entire life - body and soul - in his hands.

My God Energy Helping Me to Block Out the Distractions
I feel some kind of energy inside me that encourages me to become my best. I am going to attribute this desire to God. The closer I become to Him the more faith I feel in myself. The more good I want to do. It's this overwhelming feeling that there is more. Their is more to me and for me that I haven't discovered. I think at some time, at some point, everyone must feel this way. The problem is that their are so many distractions in the world that keep us from focusing on our goal. Our goal is our destiny in life. The reason we continue to breath. The reason for our existence. But the distractions keep us from being our true selves. They keep us from being who we want in our hearts. The person we are intended to become. I envy and admire those who don't care. Those who continue to live out their truth, because they don't care about those distractions which could be what people think. I admire those who live the life they want. Those who have the courage to be their best even when they feel the odds are against them. That is a tough thing to do in the world that we live.
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7
