Acceptance

How do we accept people for who they are?  We look at our own faults...

Romans 15:5-7
Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus, so that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, accept one another, just as Christ also accepted us to the glory of God.

Luke 6:42
"Or how can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye,' when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your brother's eye.

1 Samuel 16:7
But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."

Matthew 10:40
"He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me.

Having God's Eye

I feel the pain and hurt of others
Some people are able to block it out
And worse turn away as if it doesn't exist
But it hurts me deep in my soul
knowing a child somewhere is being made hard
A little heart turned to stone cold ice
Because others are selfish and evil
A heart that may never warm
that may grow into the person
that hurt them once before

A belly full
Fully aware that a child hungry
Is eating crumbs from the floor somewhere

A heart full
Fully aware that a child cries
From the scares hidden deep down inside

A soul full
Fully aware that a child needs God
hope, support, love, and unconditional care

Imagine a world in which every person
Nurtured that responsibility
No darkness for children
Life is full of that on its own as an adult

Imagine a world in which it was all clear
That instead of being upside down
It was upside right
That no one had a blind eye
That no one blocked out
The truth of this life

Ephesians 5:7-14
7 Therefore do not be partners with them.
8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) 10 and find out what pleases the Lord. 11 Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. 12 It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. 13 But everything exposed by the light becomes visible—and everything that is illuminated becomes a light. 14 This is why it is said:

“Wake up, sleeper,
    rise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you.”

It Is Really All About Love

I fight daily with what it means to be a good Christian Woman
Having faith that God will light my path for the journey I am to take
That he will bring people into my life who will encourage and help empower me
That he will give me the wisdom to eliminate people in my life who will lead me from that path or slow me from my journey.
That I will remember I am from God and nothing is more beautiful than His love for me.
That no Father wants anything more for his child than faith, hope, and love.
That being from God means loving myself without reservation
Treating others as I would like to be treated
Passing no judgment, because at any moment a situation can change
Thinking positive, because how we think is manifested in our behaviors
Striving for perfection, but falling short due to our human nature
He gave His Son to death, so we might be saved
Therefore, forgiving ourselves and others for imperfections.....

Luke 18:19
And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone.

What Is A God Given Life Worth?

What is a God given life worth?
Is it worth a pair of Jordan sneakers?
Is it worth an iPhone?
Is it worth drug money?
Is it worth reaction to slanderous words?
Is a God given life worth vengeance?
Is it worth hate?
Is it worth pain?
Is it worth suffrage?
Is it worth freedom?
Then why are we losing lives for much less?

Romans 13:8-10
Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

Cringe Filled Wednesday

Every Wednesday I am forced to go out to lunch with my team at work.  I hate it so much that when it's time to go my insides cringe with disgust.  We go to the same restaurant every week, because they have free pie Wednesday.  The last couple of weeks that I ordered cherry pie as my choice it would look all torn up when I received it and nothing like the picture.  Another coworker ordered the cherry pie today and it was pretty perfect looking.  I said, "dang your pie looks good," thinking its a joke, or an opportunity to poke fun at me, another coworker blurted out "it's because she's white." My three coworkers all threw their heads backwards in laughter.  I didn't think that was funny..... And my boss went on to say, "it's what we were all thinking, but she was the only brave one to say it!"  My insides sank with hurt emotions.  Maybe because I've said its because I'm black to many times?  Maybe because they think I pull the "black card" to often?  Whatever the reason was....I sat among three white people who will have more support, and a greater span of opportunities then I could ever hope for, and based not on my character, but the color of my skin.  It's nearly impossible to convince someone of your misfortune when they fail to see your challenges.

Romans 11:15
For if their rejection brought reconciliation to the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?

And I am unworthy Lord

And I am unworthy Lord.
Me and my lust and deceit
Lonely and looking
When the devil appears
So beautiful in his lies
And me searching for love or truth
Finding empty men with full promises
Searching and finding
Searching and finding
A cycle that's binding
Is it something in their eyes
The foul words that fall from their lips
Lies all lies
And me blinded by the hands of the devil
I can't see the love or truth before me
Airway blocked
Not able to breath
Looking for my guardian angel to save me
And me searching for something longed for inside
And finding my vessel empty
And I am unworthy Lord
Him giving me strength to proceed
Acknowledging the struggle
I can finally breath
My lite back
My life back
God's hands wrapped around me
How could anyone ask
Who art thou?
No one willing to admit wanting to submit
And I am unworthy Lord
And I am still searching

John 1:18-22
18 No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father's side, he has made him known.

The Testimony of John the Baptist
19 And this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?” 20 He confessed, and did not deny, but confessed, “I am not the Christ.” 21 And they asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” And he answered, “No.” 22 So they said to him, “Who are you? We need to give an answer to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?”

Statistics

NEVER LET STATISTICS DICTATE YOUR PLACE IN LIFE

“We have not stopped praying for you since the first day we heard about you. In fact, we always pray that God will show you everything he wants you to do and that you may have all the wisdom and understanding that his Spirit gives. Then you will live a life that honors the Lord, and you will always please him by doing good deeds. You will come to know God even better. His glorious power will make you patient and strong enough to endure anything, and you will be truly happy.” Colossians 1:9-11

Perception Is Everything

If you want to change the way you think, feel, behave, towards anything, then you have to change your perception regarding it.

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I am a sinner!

I am a sinner!

What does that mean?  Simply, that as a human we are not perfect people, but people with imperfections.  I hear people say that they are broken....I think we are all broken!  We need to seek God to change the things within our lives that we know are hindering us from getting closer to Him.  Living the word (Bible) helps us to be perfected in God's love.  No sin is greater than another.  When we place one sin above another we are judging.  No person is greater than another.  We are all sinners in some way.  God's love is greater than any sin, so when we actively seek him and ask for forgiveness He knows our hearts and is all to merciful in forgiving us.  He can repair and mend our hearts, fix our relationships, fill our voids, and make us whole again.  The first step is to admit you are a sinner, then have an open heart to allow Jesus in to repair it, and accept his love by living the word.

James 4:17
So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.

Romans 3:23
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

1 John 3:20
For whenever our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and he knows everything.

1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Focus On God

What happens when we lose focus on God?  Sin takes over and leaves us feeling ashamed, embarrassed, empty, and guilt stricken.  It's so easy in this life to lose focus, right?  It's easy because we worry about worldly things like paying bills, status, relationships, promotions, all the things we think will bring us joy.  When we seek worldly things they are only temporary and we end up moving on to the next worldly thing trying to fill a void that only God can fill.  When we look to God we have everything we need.  He gives us everything we need, because He loves us so much.  When we look to God we are fulfilled with the spirit that can bring eternal joy.  This Lenten Season I will be focusing on God, and I pray that my focus will be sustained by my will and desire to see and know Him more graciously.

Colossians 3:2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
Matthew 6:33
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Psalm 1:1-6
Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; ...
Romans 8:5
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.
2 Timothy 2:15
Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.
Matthew 6:24
No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.
1 Peter 3:17
For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God's will, than for doing evil.
1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
Proverbs 2:2-5
Making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding; yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.
Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

Get Some

Get Some...

God's love is amazing.  I can't for the life of me understand why some people don't want to be as close to God as possible?!?  His love, mercy, blessings, are awesome, and that's an understatement!  Their are no words that could adequately justify all His ways.  If it were something that could be bottled up, packaged nicely, and sold with the most famous entertainer to advertise It, more people would get some.  But that's the beauty of how God works....He doesn't want it to be glamorized.  He wants you to want Him without all that.  To get some, understanding His true nature without expectations.  His only expectation is Love.  In all things love.  How simple is that? Lol.  Get some!

1 John 4:8
Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.

If God were mad at me

If God were mad at me:

He'd have good reason,
I'm crying and upset
about something he's trying to protect me from
"But Father, I love him."
I have food to eat
A comfortable place to live
Healthy children
Clothing on my back
A very nice car that works
A good job that pays well
A supportive and loving family
Happiness in my heart
Good friends who I can count on
"But God give me more!"
He would have good reason to be mad at me

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Being Perfected in Gods Love-Unconditional Love

God created unconditional love.  That's when you know you've found either your rib or the ribs from which you came.  Realizing, that to be loved is to be human and imperfect.  For Gods love is perfected in us.  Unconditional love is realizing that those imperfections are perfect, because they make up who we are.  Growing in Gods love and following him means becoming more perfected to drown out evil.  Loving each other without judgment and with acceptance is true love.  True love never stops growing and learning, but creates more understanding and patience.

1 John 4:17
And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world.

The devil and his demons

The devil and his demons.

May sound crazy, but I underestimated the devil and his demons.  The good news is that God gives us power over the devil and his demons that some of us don't realize we have.  I was so distracted by what I knew in my gut wasn't from God that I was lost.  I was so lost, confused, second guessing myself, putting myself through turmoil, and ridicule.  It took a spiritual advisor to open my eyes by praying heavily for me, for me to really see what was going on.  Once I accepted God's words into my heart it snapped.  God had been trying to tell me for a while, but I was ignoring him.  The light bulb went on like my spiritual advisor had turned the switch.  See, we can pray for things that we want in our lives.  The devil and his demons know what we want and try to deceive us by sending what I thought was from God.  In a way, after I came to my senses I've learned a lot about myself and my God.  However, if I had continued doing what I knew was wrong, I would have still felt so weighed down....that's how you know it isn't God working but the devil and his demons, because you feel stressed, weighed down, I questioned everything, every day, all the time.  I was even obsessing over the situation.  Nothing should be on your mind more then God.  When I realized what God had been telling me all alone I felt free.  I felt better.  We get so busy in our lives that we can lose focus of the goal.  I lost focus, but now that I have regained my strength, I can learn from my mistakes.

Lesson to learn:  Get rid of anything weighing you down today.  Pray it away and believe in your heart that God has what he wants for you, and allow it in.  In order to receive your blessing you have to let go of the sin......sometime letting go of sin is so hard.

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Ephesians 4:31-32
Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
